Dear Parishioners,
I’m happy to have Father Joseph
Moonnanappallil assigned to Assumption and St. James Parishes, replacing Father
Kombo.
Father Joseph’s first assignment in the
United States was as Parochial Vicar at Saint Augustine and Saint Paul Church
in Glastonbury.
He was born in Kerala, the southernmost
state in India. The history of the church in India goes back to Saint Thomas
the Apostle who founded the church in 52AD. Father Joseph went to Saint
Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary and was ordained a priest on December 29, 1992 for
the diocese of Palai, the diocese which has the highest number of vocations to
the priesthood and religious life in the world.
Father Joseph will live at Assumption, along
with Father Gregory. His office will be at Saint James, where he can be reached
by telephone at 643-4129.
Please join Father Gregory and myself in
extending a very warm welcome to Father Joseph. We are so fortunate to have him
with us!

cans to contribute to the monthly Bottle
and Can Drive.
The Bottle and Can Drive is held monthly,

What could be easier
than dropping off your cans and bottles for the children to redeem for cash to
help defray the cost of their education?
If you can’t make
the date provided, you can drop your cans and bottles off to the school anytime
prior to the drive.
The next Bottle and Can Drive will be August 28th
